Challenge

The platform had to automate complex revenue-sharing flows across creators and agencies while remaining reliable, understandable, and scalable enough to support real financial operations from day one. At the same time, the team needed better internal operating leverage so delivery could move faster without multiplying coordination overhead.

What we shipped

We led engineering delivery across the backend and frontend stack, improved the system across React, TypeScript, Next.js, Node.js, Express.js, PostgreSQL, and GraphQL, implemented automation for transaction management and revenue distribution, and used AI workflow automation to improve how the team coordinated and executed. We also managed a mixed team of external and internal engineers to keep delivery aligned from inception through launch.

Outcome

Melon shipped with a stronger revenue-sharing engine, a more dependable product experience, and a delivery system that could support both fast iteration and higher-stakes fintech execution as the platform matured. Internally, the team also benefited from more leverage through AI-supported workflow automation.

The engagement started early, before the product was fully formed, which meant the work was not just about tuning an existing platform. We were involved from inception to launch, helping shape the system and delivery approach as the product moved toward its first real release.

We streamlined the revenue-sharing core

Melon’s product centered on streamlining revenue sharing between content creators and agencies. That meant the backend and frontend both had to become more dependable, because the product was responsible for handling recurring financial workflows that users would rely on as part of their business operations.

We contributed across React, TypeScript, Next.js, Node.js, Express.js, PostgreSQL, and GraphQL, leading significant system improvements to make the platform more usable, more maintainable, and more ready for scale.

Automation reduced manual transaction work

A key part of the work focused on automating transaction management and revenue distribution. Melon integrated with Plaid and Stripe, and we implemented cron-based operational flows that helped the system manage payouts and revenue-sharing logic more reliably.

Leadership mattered as much as implementation

The role was not limited to hands-on engineering. We also led a team composed of two engineers from A.Team and one internal engineer, helping keep execution aligned across contributors while maintaining momentum toward launch.

That combination of technical contribution and delivery leadership was important because the product sat in a high-trust environment. The goal was not just to ship features, but to build a system the team could keep improving without introducing more coordination drag.
